I'd like to add one thing that basically comes from what u posted.
The final manuscript of the Qur'an which is so widely available today is that of the rendition of hafs.
Theres one very knowledgeable mufti in my area, and once at an event he read the qur'an in a few different ways. I looked at the crowd and many people thought that he was stuttering and making a lot of mistakes, or reading the quran wrong. But he was actually repeating the ayaat in different renditions. So, its nice that people can learn about that from this thread
