poor guy got thrown under teh bus because they had run out of fleming scripts and they gave him a piss poor one by gardner, even if they had gone with the man from barbarossa instead of living daylights and license to kill, he would have been fine.
anyone who has read the original james bond books by fleming would know that looks and personality wise dalton was the best bond.
conery was too smooth, moore was too posh, Brosnan was a little too bland, dnno aout Craig, have not seen Casino Royale.
Dalton was the best person to play bond, but had the worst bond movies to act in.

I agree with frauds that Dalton was given the bad Bond Movie. In License to kill there was no mission but a personal matter where Bond is just a killing machine and not an agent who is good with women and uses his charm to help in investigations. Casino royal was somewhat similar in a way that Bond was again taking it way to personal.
I think for dalton the two major causes were he came after two legendary Bond actors and did not actually get good Bond plots.
Like Muzna i wont step off my fav Connery & Moore either
