I know Mr Maroush lies about my food. I know that cooking is not my forté; i’m not a Michelin starred chef and i sure as heck don’t have an ounce of culinary flair…most of the time my food is palatable but when i say it’s bad - it’s really BAD!!! I’ll know it’s bad, the kids’ll know it’s bad…and we’ll say it…
But he never says anything. He grins and bears it and will find something [in the culinary disaster served before him] to compliment.

I served tea the other day to guests and my tea is hit or miss. I thought I was being nice, I told the guests:
“Agar chai achi na lagi ho, to maiN bura nahiN mana’ongi agar app usko choR dayngi”
The response I got was:
“Yeh acha tareeka hai apni chai pilwaanai kai liyay. Ab to agar buRa laga bhi ho, to hummay peena paRayga dil rakhnay kai liyay”

My dad is great with my mum, he never says anything bad about her cooking but her food is nearly always spot on anyway.
As for me, I’ll know when my food hasn’t turned out right…my dad won’t say anything bad about it, but my brothers aren’t as forgiving :no: It’s funny, they’ll tear apart my culinary skills when the food turns out rubbish but I don’t get a single compliment when my food turns out great…typical brothers
