Russia and Afghanistan I can understand. But if Saudi Arabia is funding Taliban activities in Pakistan (that is creating huge unrest and instability in parts of the country) then that goes counter to everything we know.
Personally I realize that Taliban and Saudis are quite aligned in ideological thinking (same brand of Islam) and Saudi Arabia is world-renowned in throwing monies around the world to propagate their version of Islam, but even a layman can see the havoc Taliban are creating in Pakistan. Saudi government can control the govt in Islamabad much more easily (they practically have them in their pockets with cheap oil on credit) so they don't need to come in through violent groups like Taliban to expand their influence.
By the way, Iran loathes Taliban, (both from an ideological stand point, as well as to what Taliban did to shias in Afghanistan) so that is also a bit of a stretch.
