psyah uncle, take a deep breath and read my post again. I was also referring to that “different” evolution that you mention in your post. The misconception arises due to the fact that a lot of people deny evolution outright and consider Darwin’s theory to be one and the same with evolution. Hence the reason i posted what i did. The theory is not “the” theory of evolution but “a” theory to explain evolution and a good one at that. The red part in your post is precisely what i was trying to say.
I don’t know what the philosophical rant in the last paragraph is suppose to convey. Most people don’t have the knowledge of the modern synthesis and when they are referring to evolution, they are referring to Darwin’s theory. Since they don’t like that theory, they deny it and as a consequence deny evolution.
