Re: While booking an international air-travel trip..
In your personal capacity, would you pay for Premium cabin out of pocket for the said reasons?
if i can afford i will definitely pay.... i have found that there are few airlines which are always insanely expansively ...air france, British airways, Lufthansa business class will always be too expensive ...so i would rather fly Brussels airlines B-class which is reatively more affordable and then take a 30 min flight to paris or london....i have experienced same with kuwait airways vs emirates or qatar...so i will go KA b-class...
but yes, there are so many times when i simply could not afford the B-class in private capacity and had to go for coach... hated it but no choice... that is why i urge folks to pick credit cards with best travel benefits..believe me you can travel to Singapore on B-class for 400 dollars ! 17+ hr flight.............
Re: While booking an international air-travel trip..
I haven't traveled any where since 2005 but I have sent my family to Pakistan every other year and sometimes every year. When it comes to them traveling I don't try to save any money. At the end with my wife and 2 daughters its not worth it for me to get a deal and making them more uncomfortable then they have to be. Every now and then though we got some pretty good deals which was the one last year where they were able to fly with Turkish **for $2400 including taxes and everything from Houston, TX to Karachi. **It wasn't as bad as I thought. The only condition was to travel before May 15th and we were able to do that because the kids were in 1st and 2nd grade. I wont do it again since it will now hurt their learning at school.
How did you find that deal? Some people I know use different websites to keep tracking cheap deals which is a good idea.

Seriously? I think its exaggeration to get B-class for 400 bucks

The services flightfox offers or the best business class deals? :P
B-class deals as for the services I'm not sure yet .. i'm reading into it. But have you or anyone in the know availed their service yet? Btw its a great idea to start with :)

I did last year...or the year before. They've changed their formatting since then. Before they had bunch of their experts basically bidding for your itinerary (so 5 people eg will send you their itineraries based on your preferences). Now it's you pick 1 expert. idk how that will work out. I'm thinking about reusing their services this time around, but let's see.
Re: While booking an international air-travel trip..
If I am travelling alone, I go cheap but if family is travelling, I try to get min connections and try to make their travel as less tiring as it could be.
Actually beside cheap i love traveling so I dont mind 2-3 connections and quick stay over during connections.
Re: While booking an international air-travel trip..
if i have a choice, i pick wide-body jets which includes lunch or dinner. why get off the airplane hungry? i do that domestically in India on trunk routes like Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi, Kolkata-Delhi-Kolkata, Delhi-Chennai-Delhi and kolkata-Mumbai-Kolkata.

Lunch/dinner depends on the timings you are flying and not airplane size. when are travelling across Atlantic/pacific, you will get dinner/lunch anyway. As for domestic travel, I am not used to eating subway/mcDonalds at the airport or take it with me on plane :(

i know that but on those trunk routes, most flights are operated by Airbus A 319/320's and only a handful international flights, with wide body jets [Boeing 777 or Dreamliner B-787], continue on their domestic legs...these flights, no matter what time of day/night they operate, offer full-course meal. all of these flights are over two hours long.
on a 14 hours[SUP]+[/SUP] non-stop flights, they feed you so much that even a passenger like me, who is always hungry, has to let the service cart pass bye and not worry about any more foods.
when the flight takes off from Chicago for Mumbai, we get dinner, snack, breakfast, snack, lunch up to Delhi then another full course meal between Delhi and Mumbai...too much food...some people help themselves with more sandwiches and drinks from the counter in the galley.

Called my travel agent in advance to see when the deals were coming out. Most of the time there are deals to go to Pakistan in the off season which is just before the summer.
Re: While booking an international air-travel trip..
jo mere husband sahi samajh te hain.
waise he was going online and checking…but we actually got my ticket through Peak time travels, my parents bought their ticket through her so we went iwth her. I thought the fare was reasonable…I took a direct flight on PIA from JFK to Lahore.
There was the option of going on Qatar or Etihad for just a little bit more $$ but he didn’t want me on the stopover since I’d be alone.
As a kid, my parents always always took PIA because that was the most direct route at the time (8 hours into Europe and then 5 hours to Lahore, now you can get direct flights from NY into Lahore)…one day I"d love to have a stopover somewhere and hang out for a couple of days…iA
