I don't want Brazil winning it, so my bet is on Italy or England (yeah, it's surprising to hear that from me....but I think they got players who've developed into world class players)

Compared player to player with all the other teams in the world, England is definitely second only to Brazil.

Nescio I am a die hard england and italy fan but for some reason italy has a hard time getting all those talented people to deliver a unified performance, based on player quality alone, Italy should have won much more than it has. England for some odd reason has a defeatist mentality, I am a big fan but they want to rest on their laurels after one goal and protect the lead and that has gotten them into hot water many times. The team seem to not want it, they make stupid mistakes, especially in dikcing around with the ball across the goal in defence or stupid fouls.

Nescio, I agree with man to man comparision but as a unit, England mid-field is the best in world whereas Italian one is not as flamboyant or goalscoring one. However with Rooney fit, I rate England better than Italy. Still top two teams for me are Italy and England.
Fraudia: I will agree with you regarding that defensive attitude. Eriksson has such an attitude which doesnt suit a team with so many attack-minded players.

Totally agree, Italy is the team nobody seems to be taking seriously enough. Don't underestimate Parreira as Brazil's coach, his style is defensive first and might stifle the likes of Ronaldinho. England will disappoint again, as will Spain. Ita - Bra with Italy winning.
