Well gaming ratings are pretty subjective. I love the whole treasure hunting/lost world genre; I love The Mummy franchise, the first two anyways, cheesy as they are, as well as Indiana Jones, so Uncharted is right up my alley.

Well gaming ratings are pretty subjective. I love the whole treasure hunting/lost world genre; I love The Mummy franchise, the first two anyways, cheesy as they are, as well as Indiana Jones, so Uncharted is right up my alley.
I don't agree. A good game will have all the right elements executed well. The ratings are supposed to give an indication of this.
There are plenty of games that one can enjoy playing that aren't great games. Just like movies that are enjoyable to watch to kill some time but aren't going to win any prizes.

So you disagree with babloos regarding UC3? He's subject to his opinion, and even well received games are not loved by everyone. A good game is **generally **well received, but there are exceptions to every hit. Thus, the ratings are subjective. Yes, some people are just haters, but others genuinely do not like certain well received games, because of various reasons.
For example, I don't understand the yearly iterations of CoD.

forget rating uncharted 3 wasn't great game to begin with,it was just ok nothing new everything has scripted platforming section, it was intially great in second game,this one is unfinished product
but ign giving 10/10 is a big insult,i know there are many games where rating was 6,7 i loved those games more then some of 9 star games
and also uncharted series is overated IMO

I remember a time when they were lepers of the online VG community with their newbishness. The end of proper critical games reviewing died when EDGE went downhill.

Again, different tastes and opinions. I never got into Little Big Planet while other people love it.

I look at Metacritic and read a few reviews from both the good and the bad, paying attention to their complaints. Some people are willing to forgive certain things, while others consider them deal breakers. I agree though, that there is far too much pandering to blockbuster releases.
