Re: which games are u looking forward to in the coming months?

Modern Warfare 2 and 2k10

Waiting for these games:-

  1. Tekken 6
  2. Resident Evil 5
  3. Moha
  4. GTA China-town

I have to buy Gaming Console. Can any one suggest me what to buy.

X Box 360 or Playstation 3

It depends what games you're more interested in. See if either of the consoles exclusives are more important. From the games you've mentioned, everything except for the GTA game is available for both XBox 360 and PS3.

Here's a quick list of pros and cons

PS3

Pros

  • Generally more reliable hardware
  • Free online
  • Built-in Wifi
  • Also doubles as a Bluray player
  • Easy and cheap to upgrade hard drive
  • Allows you to browse web from the console itself
  • Bluray discs have greater capacity, allowing larger games to fit entirely on one disc

Cons

  • Bluray drive speed is much slower than XBox 360's DVD drive speed, requiring some games to have mandatory installs.
  • More difficult to develop for, so some multiplatform games look worse on it
  • Even installed games have been found to have little to no advantage in terms of performance over their XBox 360 counterparts which are all running off the disc (i.e. not installed)

XBOX 360

Pros

  • Generally better online service (can communicate with friends over XBox Live regardless of if you're playing the same game, can chat with friends over msn messenger etc.)
  • Solid library of games - this is subjective of course.
  • Easier to develop for, resulting in superior version of many multiplatform games
  • Freely available tools to develop your own games
  • Allows for complete installs of games to your hard drive, which improves the performance such as load times etc.

Cons

  • Have to buy separate wifi adapter if you want to connect with wifi
  • Has had the most unreliable hardware this generation, though they covered it under a 3 year warranty and supposedly recent hardware revisions have been more reliable
  • For multiplayer online play you need a subscription ($50 USD per year).
  • Most SKUs no longer include HDMI cable.
  • Expensive to upgrade hard drive.
  • Due to limited capacity of DVDs, some games are on multiple discs.

Though I'm an XBox 360 owner myself, right now the XBox 360 no longer has a price advantage. The value you get with the PS3 right now is better. Paying for XBox Live is not really worth it unless you want to spend a lot of time online. The interface is easier to use from what I've heard. Many good XBox 360 games are also available on the PC.

Still, I believe the decision on which gaming console you choose should be games first and foremost. So I would carry out research on which games you would like and then make the decision. Mostly it comes down to the first party games for each console. This generation we're seeing a lot of games that were previously on the Playstation platform now coming to the XBox 360 as well.

Re: which games are u looking forward to in the coming months?

My 6 yrs old has developed this love hate relationship with all Lego games for Wii .. She has become a die hard fan of Lego Star Wars and refused to buy any other Lego .. but I bought her Lego Indiana Jones and she fell in love but said no to Lego Batman. I bought her that anyways and she is all over the game now and loving it ..

She is telling me that no she does not want to buy Lego Harry Porters ..

Guess what will she be playing in Jan 2010 :D
