Re: WHICH CUISINE YOU LIKE THE MOST?

I find it interesting how some of you listed “arab” food as your favorite cuisine. you guys do realize that the cuisine of arab nations are so broad…they taste different.

I’ll narrow it down by saying** Lebanese** food rocks :dhimpak: but i might be saying that cuz im biased lol.

I agree with AQ as well…Pakistani food is good minus the oil! I prefer the grilled stuff. :k:

and then of course there is the Chinese cuisine…loved by many but just so darn unhealthy :bummer:

Re: WHICH CUISINE YOU LIKE THE MOST?

Pakistani:jhanda:

Re: WHICH CUISINE YOU LIKE THE MOST?

thai, lebanese, pakistani, spanish, japanese, caribbean and southern cuisine for me.

i heart food

Re: WHICH CUISINE YOU LIKE THE MOST?

labanese sounds really good.

You do realize that by the same token Pakistani, Indian, Chinese food and italian food is very diverse as well.

Re: WHICH CUISINE YOU LIKE THE MOST?

Pakistani Hyderabadi cuisine. The authentic Hyderabadi (Indian one) is so khatta.

Arab food stinks. Yeah the shawarma is good, but their other non fast food items have a bisand stink. I don't get the Persian food served in restaurants in the US. Rice and some kind of sheesh kabob. How am I supposed to eat the dry rice? Oh I get it, the dahi costs extra.

Generic American food served in chain resturants is alright.

yes i do.....but chinese food comes from from ONE country and uses the same spices in just about every dish they cook, same with pakistani foods. Of course there are slight variations depending upon which province you are from (ie lahori food is slightly different from karachi) but generally speaking they are similar.

I agree about India however....the food in the north is completely different then the food in the south. Not sure about Italian food though.....never noticed or looked into it.

Arab foods comes from so many different nations and uses entirely different spices....some eat spicy (ie libya) while others eat bland foods (ie lebanon). In addition to that there are variations within the countries as well. Which is why I was saying one can't just just say they enjoy eating arab food....because arab food is such a broad and general term. You have to be more specific.

i love some hyderabadi foods…but the khaata-pun gets to be too much if eaten every day…it gets boring after a while.

whoever cooked the “arab food” you ate must not know how to cook…if they cook it properly you wont able to smell the stinch. Not everyone can cook lamb or other meats properly. It’s not often that I enjoy eating red meat be it pakistani style or arab style or irani style

pakistani or arab butchers here just dont know how to cut their meat. :bummer:

pakistani/surinami cuisines.....:)

Re: WHICH CUISINE YOU LIKE THE MOST?

What is Surinami Cuisine?

Surinami Cuisine is all about borrowing methods and recipes from Dutch, Indian, West African, Indonesian, Chinese, Lebanese and Jewish kitchen.

interesting....never knew that.

Re: WHICH CUISINE YOU LIKE THE MOST?

Re: WHICH CUISINE YOU LIKE THE MOST?

In order, most fav. first.

Pakistani
Lebanese
Chinese
Italian
Mexican

quite untrue,

Chinese food varies quite heavily. if teh diner's experience is limited to the local take away that is a whole diff deal with cantonese, teochow, hokkien, szechaun, hainanese all have their own take on chinese food, spices, prep methods are different.

Same goes for pakistani food, there is a huge difference between food from NWFP versus that in Karachi, and within karachi whether the food item is hyderabadi or

India is a completel diff ballgame, as anyone can plainly see that south indian vs north indian has a huge difference, without even going into sub regional varieties.

Italian varies as well, while most ppl are familar with tuscan and neopolitan stuff. there are over a dozen regional varieties, abruzzo for one, and fruili-venezia which is more central and eastern european in its taste than what ppl think of italian cuisine.

sure, arab food is very different, having spent bulk of my childhood in saudi arabia, and travelling in the region, that was easily noticable.

I am merely adding that the same applies to other cuisine as well. The differences in 'arab' food based on history, influences, geography etc applies itself readily to places like China and Italy which have their own regions. sicilian and sardinian food is different from each other and worlds apart from general fare in Milan.
