Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
You stand corrected on Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Afghanistan, Azerbaidjan, Jordan and Yemen as well.
Second mistake of yours. Where did I say that Oman and Brunei had offered aid, yet? If Egypt is prepared to assist, then we should be grateful, instead of splitting hairs about it.
If you really want to play this foolish game of statistics, then I suggest you check the facts first - 13 out of 52 Muslim states - SO FAR, is not bad at all - that’s over 1 out of every 4 Muslim states that had pledged aid so far. There are 150 non-Muslim states - same proportion (over 1 out of 4) would be 38 states. Now can you please list 38 non-Muslim states that have pledged aid to Pakistan so far?
Your last point about about contributions of Muslim states not matching non-Muslim states has been proven spectactularly wrong. Kuwait has just pledged $100 million to the Pakistan Relief effort - that is more than ALL other states combined.
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
Now, now,now lets not get carried away with our sentiments. In your original post u have spoken of Oman and Brunei, but cut and paste means selective amnesia.
Title of thread is’Where is the Muslim Ummah?', so to compare other non-muslim states who have not contributed is irrelevant.
States who have sent immediate aid, equipment and technical people are??? Japan, England, France, Sweden, Russia, US, UAE and Iran. Who is on the field right now? Japanese, Chinese, French, Brits, Irish, Iranians, Emiratees. So grow up and give credit where it is due.
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
lets stop leg pulling for now, please.
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
Having witnessed the earthquake myself, and in the trauma of its aftermath (aftershocks.....ect...the media....), following is the letter I ended up sending to aljazeera.
I am Pakistani from Islamabad, and can flently speak and understand Arabic. I was shocked and grieved that it this time of pain and suffering of our people, Aljazeera TV or any other Arab media did not give due coverage to the quake. It only strengthens my view that all you "Arab nationalists" are concerned with is Arab affairs. When it comes to anything to do with Muslims and especially a country of 150 million Muslims, who are your brothers in faith, you turn a blind eye. Why were so concerned with Katrina and not the quake in Pakistan?
It is a shame that non-Muslim countries like Britain and USA are giving so much coverage and help! Why this attitude??? You do not prove anything even near being a MUSLIM!
Although, I am one of those who strongly believed and still do believe in the concept of ummah, but all I would say is that most of the muslims are in fact dead! If we (ummah) really were what we were supposed to be we wouldn' t be in this mess today around the world. The concept of ummah is correct but in reality it hardly exists outside the hearts of pakistanis!
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
should we be having this debate. How about get of your fat arse and do something then complain about lack of support from a certain place - you do something useful.
The fight is not for money but time. You can't buy time so stop arguing over donations.
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?

This is an official press release from the jamaat.
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
And for those that are going to start bomarbing this thread with anti-ahmadiyya non-muslim propoganda. That's a useless argument. The country needs help, any muslim or non-muslim help is CRUCIAL right now. So lets stand united and help those with anything we can.
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
The least you can do now is admit your mistake.

God Bless you Khan Sahib, our prayers and good wishes are with you. Take care,
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
While it is a good point to remember people who have helped you in times of need, it is not a good practise to attribute motives to those who have not. Charity begins at home and there is no point in asking somebody else why they did not donate, when you yourself have not donated.
Re: Where is the Muslim Ummah?
Presumption versus actual.
Not a fair comment for Pakistanis living in Pakistan or abroad. One of the positive sides of this tragedy has been out pouring of sympathies by pakis in general all over the country and those residing abroad. Donations of all kinds are pouring in domestically and internationally from Pakistanis citizens, so Iam not sure where u got your information from, sems to be rather biased or inward looking.
