Re: When you were a child

Yeah exactly, same situation here. When I finally got the hang of it, my parents had to beg me to quiet down. You know it has a lot to do with the mother herself. My mom didn’t speak much when I was expected. Women should always yap yap and yap during pregnancy. It helps a lot!

Said Lala to Chala
naina to laillaha
Toota to joota...

Re: When you were a child

when one of my now 8 year old twins was learning Shahada a few years back, he would always get stuck on “*muḥammadun” *and it came out as “more dudoo (as in milk)” :cb:

Re: When you were a child

I used to call diaper…piader…so a switch of the letters.

Whenever something would get ruined…my brother would exclaim, “pakkah ho gaya hai!”

And I supposedly had issues with the word, bati. If anybody said it, I’d say “batti nahi kehtay, light kehtay hain.”

And there was an Urdu letter I couldn’t pronounce which my mom, to this day, gets a kick out of teasing me about. :grumpy:

Re: When you were a child

I had my own version of mama and papa
mama : mampa
papa : pampa

And take a shower was more like ‘naye naye’ I still say it :smack:
