You would not use the word “old and ancient” for paintings from 1700s and 1800s. Art movements in those centuries were generally called Neoclassicism and Romanticism, there are more, but these are the most popular and defining art periods, just classicalism is also a term used to decribe art from those two centuries…
Old and Ancient Art would be something from Roman and Greek periods or anything BC.
Obviously I could be wromg as I’m not an Art historian, but these are the basics I think I managed to remember from art class and museam vists…
