The only reason China is supporting Pakistan, is that it needs to Pakistan to distract India and force India to deploy some of its forces away from the border with China. Basically it needs Pakistan to act as a counter-weight to India in the sub-continent. There would be no reason for China to get invlolved in a nuclear exchange between Pakistan and India because this would be in Chinas favour. Although Pakistan would pretty much be wiped off the map, the Indians would take heavy casualties too and their economy would take probably take decades to recover leaving China as the sole power in the region. There would really be no reason for China to intervene on Pakistans behalf. Much better for them to sit back and watch the fireworks, and once its all over they would be number one in the region.

well...if in case nukes are bombarded on India by Pak and on Pak by India...there could be third world war as well...as some powers becoming India's allies and some Pak's.In such a case World Annihilation could be well on cards.I know it sounds far fetched...but this as a possibility can't be ignored.
