I think we have to make some assumptions here. Was this a good person? Did thiis person make good contributions to society and people? Live a good life? If yes then by all means send them with every prayer. If no, then say a private prayer for their soul.
I may be wrong in my personal beleifs but I think a good person - no matter what religion (if any at all!)....if they were a good person then God/Allah will forgive and receive them.
God/Allah is forgiving and beneficient yeah? So we must be too.
