Re: Whats the difference b/w Family Practice, General Practice and Internal Medicine?
WHen it comes down to it, there really isnt much difference between the three. Family practice will provide for any age (including infant well-care), General practice (generally) means adults only and internist means that they do all types of medicine but focus on the internal organs and how they're functioning (ie., heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, etc). Each of the 3 can and do perform routine physicals but your best bet is to choose a doc that you like or has been recommended to you, no matter which of the 3 above specialties they advertise.
