What will be the outcome of the battle on the cricket field?

I hate to say.....but I agree with Sherry. Our current performance is just not on the International standard. Shabbir is good but I think Waqar SHOULD be in the team. He along with Shabbir and Sami can bowl long spells. Shoaib could be brought in for striking here and there. Since we know that with some gap in spells, he is deadliest. Sami needs some serious basic tips from either Great Khan or Wasim for that matter. He is flat for most of the time and does deliver once in a blue moon. But hey, we can't take chances. I think we should invest in him, atleast a 5 day session for him and Shabbir only, with the kings of fast bowling.

Shoaib
Sami
Waqar
Shabbir

They need to crush the concrete batsmen like laxman, sehwag, tendi and gagi. I hope shoaib will never bowl tendi offside off stump and that is short pitch :D in his life.

Bring in the phattan bhai (afridi) for spin, as a regular bowler. He will be good on #7 for hitting as well. With Shoaib and Sami playing well with bat, the tail will be more safer so we don't need Razzaq just for hitting. Razzaq has lost his earlier charm. Even on local dead pitches, he is just an ordinary, third class bowler like the trademark Indian/Srilankan seamers (no offence) except the new discoveries in India. We might have Rashid or Moin in this series, so the batting will not be bad from #6. Razzaq is definetly out from Test. For ODI, he could be a candidate if afridi is back on his auqaat. But I think afridi can hit the mediocre Indian attack easily.

Batting is cruicial. If Farhat and Yasir can repeat the performances again bangis and saffis then yoyo and inzi can take the rest of the indian bowlers with ease. Please do not give a single chance to the dabba (faisal iqbal). he is a true sifarshi :p doesn't deserve a place even in A team.

For ODI, I think Yasir should not open with Imran. He is good at one down in ODI. Imran should be told to play sober and bring phattan bhai for openning. Let him do the kill in first 15 overs and get some fast 60+ runs. This is neccessary, more because of the lazy ass Inzi, who will slow down the innings in the mid and will waste some 5+ overs just to settle down, if he would.

If we are playing some extraordinary young lad from QA trophy, then in test we can drop phattan bhai and bring kareria in. Saqi could be a choice too. Indians have yet to play Kaneria. It could be a surprise for them, if he is in form.

The thumping manner and margin of victory that Australia managed in the best-of-three final of the recently concluded triangular series is a clear indication that the India simply ran out of gas at the fag end of the tour.

Pakistan is NOT Australia.

Series against Australia confirmed the world-class credentials of Laxman. The series against pakistan will confirm the class of another Indian player - Parthiv Patel.

Reality is we are not the team we used to be in 1999.
Our lineup back then consisted of Saeed, Ijaz, Saleem, Afridi, Inzi, Yoyo, Moin, Razzaq(when he was a real allrounder), Azhar (he too was decent back then), Saqi (challanging for #1 spinner?), Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib, Wasti, Mushtaq Ahmed, and your other on and off players.

Now that is a really strong, experienced team.

We now have Moin, Inzi, Yoyo, and Shoaib. We have a Razzler, who has forgot how to bowl and pick up those 4 wickets per game, a demoralized Azhar Mahmood, a dead doosra Saqlain Mushtaq, and a bunch of newbies to the International scene.

India in 1999, used to play with Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid, Mohd. Azharuddin, Jadeja, Mongia, Kumble, Srinath, Ramesh, Laxman, Prasad, and on and off players.

India since changed their team, but have descovered quite the fighters. Even their current bowlers seem to be much effective than their previous ones.

I agree with Sherrybaba, Pakistan's bowling is gone. We are living in a fool's paradise if we still boast to be the best in the bowling department. All this talent we kept hearing about, where is it?
Our real wonders are Shoaib, Sami, and a 1998 Saqlain Mushtaq (I pray).

Unfortunately to say, I think India may have a mental factor on us in the test arena, coming back from Australia.
Ganguly is a cunning captain, Sachin is a master blaster, Laxman and Dravid are the soul. The deciding factor in this series will be Saqlain Mushtaq. Shoaib will do some of the job, but the rest of it will be rested on Saqlain.

Remember how Saqi bhai won us the test in Chennai. :)

we don need to tag this series as a battle on the field

Thank you for that enlightening comment, but perhaps you should tell that to your politcians who hardly have any faith in your team.
