just gunna go bk on topic for a sec here, so many books tht r brilliant, some i'd recommend r : 'The wild' - Esther Fraud, 'About a boy' (forget what the author's called :P), 'Spies' - Michael Frayn, 'Angels and demons' - Dan Brown, 'In her shoes' - (again forgotten the authors name :P). Those books are my all time faves if u wanna check em out. :)

Catcher in the Rye is my favorite book. I absolutely loved it. :)
It's not exactly an "intellectual" book, but it's got lots of symbolism in it. I never looked at people in general the same way again (especially the differences between kids/adults and all)
