Re: What should Pakistani laws be based on?
Social laws should be seperate from Quran laws that govern a persons individual life. For example, a crime like a eating pork which doesnt affect the society should not be punishable by law. The punishment for such crimes lie with Allah. I think the christian convert in afghanistan was wrongly pursued since his crime did not affect the community so its punishment is not with state police its with God. Laws which affect community and from which society needs protection, eg, murder, theft, bribery, should be punishable by law.
SO, its a mixture of man made and God made laws.
