Given the situation, the best thing to do at the moment is to bring some sense of stability in the country. In my opinion, the first thing the president should do in next couple of days, is to set up an independent investigation commitee, headed by a well respected federal judge. Also, the government should ask for forensic assistance from agencies such as FBI/MI6. Para-military forces should be deployed throughout the country to protect the Pakistani citizens and the private/government property for atleast next week or two to calm the situation down.
