No PCG. Le tme tell you about the Matisse chapel in Vence. Matisse spend a lot of time painting the vistas from the various village perches up country about 40 miles form Nice. He was asked by the local Parish to contribute his works to a new church they were building. He declined because he said that "nothing to overshadow god in the house of god." So they asked him if he could paint a wall depicting religious imagery. He thought about it for a long time and came back with a proposition. He said that if th epowers that be agree, he would change the design and make this his project for the next three yearsa nd he won't be disturbed.
They agreed. for three years the church was draped with cloth and the artisans working were told not to utter a word. ANd they did.
Three years later he asked the town people to be to come to the site for the opening. He asked them to come at 7:40 am. A strange time they thought..but agreed anyway. That morning, while everyone was inside the chappel and looking around at the blue, green and yellow stained glass,( that covered more than 80% of the structure, leaving only the sturctural components to be in wood, painted white), he asked his personnel to take off the tarp that was draping the church. As they did that, around 8 am, the sun shone through the Kaleidescope like ventanas and hues of green, blue and yellow covered the faces and bodies of every single person there. He said "he sees god in color"
The angles with which the sun's rays hit the building throughout the day, make the experience surreal almost godly.
