What R U Doing??

Re: What R U Doing??

When my dadi (Allah unhe jannat naseeb karay;Amin) was alive, there were days that she and my chachi couldn’t decide what to cook. So they would fry up huge batch of aalu k pakoray, all cut lengthwise like thick french fries. There would be fresh dehi (never the store version), and chutney, and either store bought ketchup or homemade ketchup. My cousin or my dada would get naan from the market. And that would be our lunch. It was sort of a tradition and when we would visit Pak during summer vacations, there was at least one day that we would a meal of pakoray. Haven’t done that in ages. But even so, it would be the same…it’s more fun when you have cousins around you. And you’re right…pakoray go beautifully with a cloudy day.
