What is your design style?

Re: What is your design style?

Dying over this set for the past year!! This would be wasted on a rental.
Sophia Mirrored Dining Room Furniture Collection - furniture - Macy’s

look at how they turn it into a desk! Ugh so elegant. I am so done with clunky furniture, this is more what I like! Sleek and sophisticated.

Re: What is your design style?

Personally I loveeee traditional stuff, the woven beit headboards walay beds and chinioti jhoolas the multani blue painted pottery and big vases and brass pots in which you can place big plants and jharoka styled mirrors and would loveee to have a sadequain calligraphy too…also a big fireplace with a huge rocking chair, a grandfather clock, also I would love to have one in which this bird flies out every hour lol
hubby on the other hand is all about ikea inspired neat modern stuff

Re: What is your design style?

with two little boys on board, anything made in dark colours and is washable and unbreakable will do for few years :bummer: uskay baad contemporary all the way iA :k:

Re: What is your design style?

I looked at that very set too!!!

In the end, I decided to mix and match a Z Gallerie/West Elm inspired chocolate pedestal parsons table with 2 chairs from pier 1 and 6 parsons chairs…i’m bringing in the mirrored accents all the way though!!! My hope is to be able to fit in a mirrored sideboard into the space…but i’ll have to wait until the table arrives to know for sure

Re: What is your design style?

I hear you! That’s the same reason we waited until now, when our boys are older, to build and decorate to our (actually mine :hehe:) heart’s content

Re: What is your design style?

 mera time bhi ayega iA :k:

Re: What is your design style?

I have a dark colour scheme for my house.. We just had our house custom built and got dark brown cupboards for the kitchen and dark hard wood flooring. greyish blinds and black sofas. oh and the shag carpet is also silver grey. the only light coloured thing we have is a gleaming white quartz countertop and kitchen island. Me and my husband are into modern and contemporary styles. let me see if i can attach a pic.

Re: What is your design style?

^that’s beautiful..so much like the pictures we see at houzz/pinterest lol :k:

how does your kitchen get managed with only those cabinets ? I feel I need a bigger kitchen than my bedroom

Re: What is your design style?

Masha’Allah thats beautiful. May Allah bestow you with better home in jannah Ameen. Same question as khatti did, you manage all in this kitchen? Even being at rental I reject the homes with small kitchens

Re: What is your design style?

Thank you Afayiz and protoype for the compliments and prayer. It is small kitchen but I have a rather big walk in pantry right next to the kitchen, so I manage to fit everything there. you can see the pantry door next to the fridge in the picture.

Tranquil and khatti both of you have gorgeous spaces mashallah! I love neutal colors, functional spaces. For any space to look good it has look it has to be clean.

Re: What is your design style?

@ Khattichic and Tranquil.. mA, beautiful homes, may you both be blessed with peace, tranquility and barakat in your homes.

My own style is more transitional. I despise super formality in a home and longed for a place that was more comfortable, classic, yet modern. Not into the ultra modern with absolute clean lines, or a look that is very sterile. And definitely not into the traditional style.

We have clean, simple lines, A bit of traditional mixed with a bit of contemporary. I don’t like too much masculinity in a house, and at the same time cannot stand the frills, and femininity in a home. It is very well balanced, AH.

Over the years I have developed a taste for color in my home. By color I mean reds, yellows. teal blue, pistachio green, browns and greys. And that is what we have.

Lots of sofas and armchairs throughout 3 living areas, all in leather. Not a single ‘fabric’ sofa in the house. One can be comfortable in the family room, and just as comfortable and relaxed in the formal living room.

We have many children running throughout our house, so looked at something that was functional, durable, safe and also pleasing for those who live in the home.

Living in a clean place is a must, yet it must look lived in. Everything has its own place, and we try to de-clutter as much as possible.

Oh, and it’s not all matchy matchy either. Everything seems to blend in together. I don’t believe in spending a fortune on things, and as KC mentioned, it does not have to cost an arm and a leg to look good.
