What is the deal with punjabis

been afraid?

Hahahah u from pindi or something? Well achi baat hai coz jo darr gaya woh marr gaya

I dont care:D

MY post sounded controversial lol. I happened to be at wedding in lahore. It was a middle class family and i was told i am gonna get to see real lahore, which included people from bhagwan pura, chah meeran etc. All i saw was girls literally coated with make up. None of them looked ugly. But when they spoke up, it somehow didnt go with the personality. (THe typical lahoris pronouncing ‘ray’ of urdu wrong). There someone said this ‘lahori girls look pretty until they speak’. Now throw eggs.

Re: What is the deal with punjabis

I deliberately pronounce ray of Urdu wrong. I have a Lahori accent of Urdu and Punjabi.

Not all Lahori girls speak in the sarrak chaap way. I know some aunties and girls are so annoying and the way they speak is like god help you. Cover your ears and run away.

NEEEEE HAMEEEEDAAAAAAAAAAAAA (SHRIEKING VOICE) THALLEY AA'AAAN NI KURRIYEEEE IK DO LAGGAN GI NA PHAIR KURRI SIDDI HOYEGI etc...

That is mostly middle to lower class families that speak that way. Not all Lahoris talk the same. You can compare Lahore to London. In London only there are different accents. South has cockney and all the street language. There is more sophisticated English West London. It just depends.

You cannot generalise and say Lahori girls look pretty until they speak!! That's just WRONG!

Re: What is the deal with punjabis

But the middle class and the lower class makes the majority, hence representative, no?

:smack:

Re: What is the deal with punjabis

No. No matter what, it is wrong to generalise. Like Darwin said, as long as there would be a black duck or something in white ducks or was it something similar to this, there would be a difference. It won't be the same. It won't be all classified the same.

As long as one is different, it is not the same. Also Lahore is changing. There are more upper class, upper to middle class people than before. By and by people get educated etc, their way of talking etc becomes better usually. Oh and it is. So that sentence still is generalisation to the extreme.

Re: What is the deal with punjabis

I have an accent in urdu... so yes I would probably be one of those that would scare people off when I open my mouth lol. But im not low-class.... Sticking nose up in the air
