What is the aim of circumcision of men in Islam?

Re: What is the aim of circumcision of men in Islam?

Peace the kaur,

Your question is like “God given us nails, they grow then why we have to trim them to look in perfect shape”. Well, God made us all in a standard shape and then ordered us to clean / take care of certain parts of the body which in Islam known as “Fitra”. Other meaning of “Fitra” can be taken as submission to the will of God even if we’re able to understand the reason or wisdom behind it or not.

Peace Balthier,

Another reason could be that previous generation had more life span comparing with today’s life span. I read that Prophet Ibrahim a.s., lived for Hundred and Seventy-Five years (approx). No wonder at age 80, it could be the right time for do so.
