jee jee I know you do that..and so do CM and Monk at times and a few others on GS:cb:
true..most people don’t like it…but I prefer it..cuz tht way it helps me see myself as others see me and if required correct myself whereas if i hear it from 3rd parties it simply annoys me.
back biting is done solely for the purpose of defaming someone and getting pleasure out of it. Some people do it as a hobby because it serves as their zabaan ka chaska.
Now if I go tell someone that you can't spell properly or think that the teenage text-lingo looks cool, that would be considered backbiting. But if I say it to your face, that would be considered rude. I am guilty of taking the second route mostly, and being labelled rude. Perhaps which is why people backbite in the first place.
JANWWARR...bak biting is not dat u should say anything or other's weakness on the face n just to avoid in his absence...is it ur own definition?u mst b know all moral values too...rite? if u think u r sayng smething on face n just tryng to avoid bak biting then u mst know dat u again doin smethng wrong on the otherhand...yes..u can say only smething on face to sme1 but u cannt say each n every thing bcuz in dis way u r absolutly rite dat u ll b considered rude janwar...
n i do spell wrong since i started the use of computr...:)
i never realized how horrible men are at backbiting and gossip until i started working with this guy at the college lab, he is such a woman hater after his gf broke up with him, constantly backbiting about her and he just gets into this mood of hating all women b/c of it. some men are just as nasty at it as some women. i mean you need to keep the enviroment a bit professional
backbiting is not truth or trying to get stuff off your chest or getting advice, it's ugly, nasty talk about others.
i thank god he's the only person that does that there or else i wouldn't enjoy my work one bit.
**i think "back-biting" is saying things about someone that u will NOT be able to say in front of his/her face which may or may NOT be true...it doesn't matter.
having said that, saying things against a tyrant on his back is NOT back-biting!
We back bite without thinking twice and literally think nothing of it. If you think about it, it's a cheap and dirty habit. Few years back I had a roomate and she and I made a pact that everytime we back bited about someone, we could put 5 cents into a jar and it worked well alhumdulillah!
if someone backbites to you, they must backbite about you as well. I read this quote somewhere "You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him"
