Well, other than the water cooler, i got 800 CC car, some blockbuster gift cards (even though i requested netflix) , a round trip for Murree and a stay at Bhurban, $20 worth of dunkin donuts coupons, some phone cards for Pakistan, ticket to a Bulls home game vs. Atlanta Hawks (i wanted Bears vs. anyteam, even habib bank) and Free Oil change for 3 years from jiffy lube (best part is that Jiffy Lube will not ask me to change the air filters or any part) ... I might get more if the systems stay healthy for the next 3 months. Overall, i m happy with the negotiations. I even asked , "Why so much for such a little favor" and the reply was "Read my screen name"

it was a legit Remote Control App ; that is why no malware scanner was detecting it. The netstat table helped identify the app.

And who was controlling that legit Remote Control app? .... i mean was installed by himself or someone else?
I saw in some other thread, Dimaagh-HTN was asking for Internet fraud help ..... was this infected computer related to it? ..... umm .... just curious.

If there’s any possible relation between the two problems, then that computer should be handled by forensics expert… that’s just a thought, i don’t know details about that Internet fraud thing which could be something irrelevent.

^ hmmm interesting... in that case, i would re-install the OS to have a peace of mind (from rootkits and such)
on a second thought, whoever installed that remote control app may not be that smart after all cuz he left trail all over.... i m saying it cuz he could have installed a backdoor shell/trojan, but he chose the easier remote control app. (which, in a way was smart cuz scanners couldn't detect it). My thoughts were that someone installed it while DHTN was away i.e. some insider.

Whenever I think my box's been pwned, doesn't matter if its the laptops or PC's, i always re-wipe. The PC which hasn't been wiped in the longest is 3 mths and that one doesn't really work as a regular PC.
