Maybe and Maybe not . That's because even though they might look like Saddam, they might not act like him . :)
If the cost of the war surpases a given dollar amount, the United States will be 'forced' to consider a truce. Saddam will survive and continue to rule, but in a controlled manner.

This is precisely why I beleave he will remain in power. The people of the United States will never accept an attack by Saddam using WMD.
If we are convinced that our men (boys) will be dissabled, dissmembered or destroyed by such weapons, then we will compromise.
The alternative would be for the U.S. to retaliate indescriminately. And 'that' option would certainly start a larger war and therefore not be an option.

The wild card is "Iraqi people" do they hate saddam more then the invaders or is it the other way around? So far you have seen their hospitality and you can draw your own conclussions... I have not seen any uprsing even in the south where there is shiite majority.

Abdali you have a point here.
But will that not lead to more insecurity and a major threat to Israel what American can never afford? SO they will do any means necessary to not just remove him from power but also let him bow down in front the cameras!

The threat to Israel will be there regardless its not saddam its the people. Israel is a ticking time bomb so lets not even discuss that, its a forgone conclussion and just a matter of time.
Don't be suprised if they use WMD and blame it on Saddam they will do what ever it takes.. The only problem is people may not buy it. By destroying their cities they sure are making lot of friends it was demonstrated yesterday in the south. The why this aggression is going I have a feeling it may end up like the battle for Stalingrad.
I feel this war will stop after sometime and Saddam would retain his power.

This was my first impression but somehow I had said that America will do everything just to proof that Saddam is no longer in power. At least that task to be “successfully” fullfilled therefore I voted for the first.
Let’s see what is going to happen, since new updates remind me of the last option, where one General said this war is going totally the other way round even if Bush and Co are saying vice versa.
