i used to call hubby by his name until one nosy antiiii overheard me doing so. she over-reacted of course, and then i had to call him "jii" when in da company of fam members.
kinda got stuck with calling him jii.... and he calls me baby :D

Hubby and I refer to each other as "aap".

How about when you're talking about your sig other to a third party? My mum never mentions my dad's name ever... in public it's Mr. So and So.. and at home in front of family members it's "sunein". I've never heard her mention his name!

My mom refers to him/calls him "Balay" (his name is Iqbal)..
My SIL calls him "baby" but says his name when referring to him..

gosh lots of names. In public it is always by his proper name and Aap. I am used to saying "you" to him and I have to really struggle calling him aap in public though...workin' on it!!

i refer to him as aap, and i hardly ever call him by his name, its too weird i think its nicer if i dont, i always say baaat sunain, the only time i said his name was in the beginning when i was waking him for fajr, but even then it was weird, he calls me jaan jee, janaab, tum, churail, dain lol :D

When I am very angry at him I call him aap.. then he knows I am pissed off at something otherwise it's usually either his name or tum!!

Use "tum" for him coz we're the same age and I call him "Zeeb", that's the pet name I gave him. I call him by that name no matter if I'm angry or whatsoever. It's either Zeeb or Zeebu.

He doesn't speak urdu so I don't have to worry about calling him ap or tum. But, if he did, i think i'd def. use tum. Ap is far too formal for our tastes. I'm sure he'd hate it as well.

I usually refer to him by his name. . . or the million and one petnames i have for him. He does this as well.
