what do u think about this dress?

Re: what do u think about this dress?

yeah I understand that but thought you liked
it and wanted to go with something like that one. :)
Go for a more vibrant color if you ask me.
I know I would. :D

Re: what do u think about this dress?

what sort of color????
just this topic of mine changed my mind so much lol since yesterday that now i have a totally different image of my wedding dress in my mind, than what i had in my mind before making this topic, like i wanted to have this slit thingy in front, but someone said it's out, i like tea pink (for nikah, not for barat or valima) but u said that's out, i wanted to have a nath (the big nose thingy) only for the barat day not for nikah or valima and someone said that's out also, now i am so confused, what in??? a cotton qamiz shalwar for my wedding??/
hehe j/k
but help me ppl, i want to have a dress like a statement making dress but everything i can think of is out ugh!

Re: what do u think about this dress?

Hmmm..
didn't someone mention you could still do a nath???

As far as color is concerned, although I don't like red as bridal,
that above red/turqoise looks lovely.

Don't decide in a hurry, keep looking at different sites etc.
I always like contrasting a dark color with a lighter one.

Good luck. Also check out hsystudio.com.

Re: what do u think about this dress?

Don’t worry about what’s in. It really doesn’t matter. Wear what you want to wear.

Re: what do u think about this dress?

Good advice, Sahar. Everyone likes to say this thing is out or that thing is out. But the truth is, it all depends on the bride's personal style. When people say something is out, they mean it was extremely popular a few years back, but less so today. The novelty has worn off. Tea pink was hot in 1999--it looked so different from the reds or peacock colors. Now it's common. Same goes with lilac--that was so in five years back. People are always looking for the newest and latest. In Pakistan, reds and maroons are strong as ever for bridals. Bright colors are in for the next year--like fuchsia or magenta. A lot of girls stick to traditional colors for the baraat, but experiment on the valima. If you go to a reputable designer in Pakistan, they can help you sort out what's in and out and whether or not it will suit you.

Re: what do u think about this dress?

thanks sajal and sahar, actually i didwent to the website of hsystudio.com and i really liked their work better than any other designer's website i have been. but they are only in lahore, and i will go to karachi, is there any way kay i can get their dresses from karachi???
and i will have 3 different wedding function INSHALLAH nikah which will be in america and barat, valima will be in pak, i want a red or any traditional reddish sort of color in barat, i want to try a totally different color for my valima it can be anything, and i get so many ideas from that hystudio website. but still unsure about my nikah dress, i was thinking about pink but since some of u pointed out that it is not in anymore i think i shouldn't go with that. so please feel free to give me any idea.
thanks

Re: what do u think about this dress?

^^You can find HSY clothing at 'The Designers' store in Karachi on Zamzama. I can't remember seeing any ready-made bridals at that store though.

Re: what do u think about this dress?

Ooo i like the thrid one, red and aqua now thats something hot!

The first and the second are ave

Re: what do u think about this dress?

Creme Brulee. so that "the designers' store only sell hystudio's stuff????
thanks for info, cuz i really loved 2 dresses from that place

Re: what do u think about this dress?

I'm not feeling the pink outfits or the maroon one. I think I'm sick of the V cutouts on the sleeves and dupattas--every other bride has had that. The red and turquoise one is insane, but I mean that in a good way. Who would have thought that would look so good?!

Re: what do u think about this dress?

Yanzala, the kaam in the second picture seems to be varied--there's stones, sequins, and cut-dana (this is pretty popular nowadays and gives that looks you're talking about). I'm sure they also have some resham work, like French knots and a tiny bit of colored zardozi (tone on tone, not golden)

Re: what do u think about this dress?

thanks.
i really didn't know that so many things were there in this kaam. khair, i really like that sort of neat and nazuk look. i want to have something like that in one of my fancy dress (not the wedding one, i drop that idea)

Re: what do u think about this dress?

why is this dress fobby? i love it; it looks soo soft :p

Re: what do u think about this dress?

i didn't say it's fobby
wrong post u quote here:p

Re: what do u think about this dress?

i know you didn’t. i was trying to quote the picture but it disappeared. :bukbuk:

Re: what do u think about this dress?

lol no prob. i was just kidding

Re: what do u think about this dress?

i think pinks a real nice color for nikkah, and i think its still in (its what i wore about a year ago to mine anyway :D )

Re: what do u think about this dress?

yanzala, no they have other designers there too. But most of the evening wear at that store was by order only, so I’m assuming the bridal-wear works the same way.

Re: what do u think about this dress?

oh really, i guess they were talking about tea pink, which is out now, but i guess other shades of pink are still in, what was ur shade of pink? tea pink? baby pink? hot pink? etc etc

Re: what do u think about this dress?

wouldn't be hard to order something so expensive, from a catalog??? any experience?
