Re: What are you reading?

due to strikes and shehr-band you might be able to relate yourself with this islander :hehe:

Re: What are you reading?

i like his story and how he writes.
at the start it was a bit difficult for me to grasp his way or writing. a bit difficult english for me.
but had plenty of time, sleepless nights attending my father at hospital in karachi, though i’m slow in reading, but finished more than half already.

i like how well he develops his religious thought himself, his idea of deliverance, his duty to God.

Re: What are you reading?

How is your father now? Hope all is well at your end

Finished God-shaped Hole by Tiffany DeBartolo...loved it. Sappy romance. Also finished A Game of Thrones, George R.R. Martin...totally loved it. Can't wait to check out the next book in the series. Just started Gone Girl...hopefully it's good. I haven't seen the movie...so lets see.

have you gone through it?

Re: What are you reading?

Review: Empires of the Indus by Alice Albinia | Books | The Guardian

Sindhi Translation of ‘Empires of Indus’ by Alice Albinia. I found this interesting due to fact that todate all the travelogues on journey of river Sindh were written by government officials like Burns (East India Company) or Sindh government sponsored expeditions in 1990s. This one is from a neutral person and she discovers the public sentiment without compromising the truth.

Re: What are you reading?

Yes, it is like, history about thought of Pakistan which takes most of the space, post independence is covered halfheartedly and finally ends with the abul kalam's predictions.

2 stars at most
