Re: What are you reading?
didn’t like this one at all! he has a valid line of thinking but i got the sense that he is trying a bit too much to be more loyal than the king. think i left it halfway, and i only do so rarely.

I haven't started it yet. started another book on weekend. But by just going through the introduction, I can understand the bold part in your post.
Re: What are you reading?
I just started reading Just One Day by Gayle Forman.
Anyone read it?
Re: What are you reading?
Not that one but her If I stay and Where she went are two of my faves! Love her writing style. Let me know how it is
Re: What are you reading?
how did you like it, LP?
i am reading The Idiot.
I loved the Journey not the final destination. I loved the contemplative psychological nature of the book. I would like to read more books by the author.
Finished reading Picture Perfect and I didn't like it . I wouldn't read another book by this author.
Re: What are you reading?

So far its failing to make an impression on me
Characters seem flat and dull - the guy is like perfect.
He always takes the moral high ground even when the situation would suggest otherwise.
Re: What are you reading?
Rise and Fall of Third Reich by William L Shirer

@LP - interesting that you would say that. i thought so too. read it about 12 - 13 years back. it cast a deep impression on my mind that stayed with me for a long time. you could say it changed at how i looked at the world, how i felt about right and wrong, moral and immoral, good and evil.
i love his 'steppenwolf' more than any other book in the world. its beautiful ... hits close to home. 'siddharta' is excellent also. 'narcissus and goldmund', less so ... for me. i left journey to the east (?) in the middle. i think by the time i read the last two books, the author had become too predictable, and his contemplative philosophical psychological approach became a bit too overt and too obvious.
Re: What are you reading?
PS FOLKS _-- Congrats on reading Page #100!!!
Re: What are you reading?
Finished reading Ever After by Nora Roberts and The best of me by Nicholas Sparks. I didn't like the ending of The best of me :(

I'll read Steppenwolf next. After reading a book of contemplative philosophical psychological nature, I need to read some light book. I don't know why,but those books are heavy yet so satisfying.
I hope Steppenwolf is as good as I think it is :D

Re: What are you reading?
'Na Junoon raha na Pari rahi' - A novel by Zahida Hina.
This has been translated into English as 'All passion spent'.
The novel takes one through the days of Partition from the perspective of the Parsi community, recreating the trauma of a people first displaced from their native land, Iran, and then torn apart by the ravages of Partition.
Re: What are you reading?
Just finished up Just One Day/Just One Year and Just One Night all by Gayle Forman.
Was a decent read - my favorite of all was Just One Night. Perhaps because it was a Novella and really got to the point.
The other could have been easily condensed into one book - but its always a better idea to sell two books rather then one.
