I am reading Khaak aur khoon... And after what muqa suggested then al read "kaleesa aur aag"

Fall of giants covers WW1, Winter of the world covers the aftermath of WW1, WW2 and the end of the war.

that seems really interesting. reminds me Quratulain Haider's 'Aag ka Darya' which has been translated to English recently
