Re: What are you reading?
Currently I'm reading the Accidental Apprentice which is written by the the author of Questions and Answers; the later is what Slumdog Millionaire was based on.
The book is abrupt in spots. And kinda filmi. Questions and Answers was filmi'ish too...but somehow...it managed to keep me more engaged....whereas this one makes me more aware of the filminess. Hard to explain.
Re: What are you reading?
Read "Laughing all the way to the Mosque" by the creator of "Little Mosque on the Prairie" recently. So from the common theme in titles, we can all see that she was going to rely heavily on her being a religious and cultural oddity compared to her target demographic, its just that her loveable fool schtick got tiring by the time I got to the third chapter. The whole book reads like a sitcom with everyone enabling the protagonist in her attempt to be unbelieveably silly.
Re: What are you reading?
Catcher in the rye and how to be a woman. I don't like the way they are written so far.

I have read 1/3 rd and still enjoying it. The story is about the controversial profession, but its interesting to know the world from the perspective of these people and upto this point in book the writer had done a good job.
Actually, I never thought to read Paulo after Alchemist. Not that I didn't like the book, but I read that he repeats himself in his other books. I chose to pick another book, as this is the second of Paulo's book after Alchemist, which has been translated in Sindhi. I'm reading English version to know why they chose this book for translation, while the topic is quite controversial. May be readers of Sindhi literature are more open to such topics. Recently, a Sindhi book won award for best novel of the year and it was also controversial topic dealing with poor girls of railway employees of lower cadre.
