elderly people don't hear too well, so make sure you are loud when you tell them their fly is open.
Along with poor hearing the elderly can't see too well either.
So make sure to scream AND..... POINT out the problem.

There was this lady on the bus and we got off at hte same stop to transfer to the next bus, and while we were walking I was almsot running to catch up to her 
I told her her fly was open, she said "oh thanks’ and i guess she fixed it.

Hmm, now let’s make this tougher. What if you see someone unabashedly digging for gold (picking their nose) ???
Let’s say that it’s someone you know…or perhaps a guest. 
What are some respectable ways to tell them to quit it without embarrassing them? Do you just hand over the tissue box and hope they’ll get the hint? Chide them? Mimic them so they become uncomfortable enough to get the message?

One of my male friends' fly was open. He eventually realized it and zipped it up. But he said it out loud like, "oh crap, my fly has been open this entire time." I wasn't thinking and said, "Uhh yeah!" It was pretty awkward and embarrassing... so yes, a male should tell a male and a female should tell a female in such situations.

Well take them to the side and let them know. Make it sound like it is not a big deal. That should make everything alright.
