I always thought the shaving of the head was fardh. I remember when my SIL didn’t shave her daughter’s head I was telling her that you should. She finally did after a few months (she wanted to wait until the baby was older). I feel so guilty and bad for getting on her case about it.

I’m glad this article clears up so much misunderstandings about these rituals.
