Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Lunch - Day 5

WI 2nd inn: 73/4 (33 overs)…RR 2.21…trail by 231 runs… :jhanda:

PS: Next session should be the decider…

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

73/4 @ lunch on the final day

WI up against it. Chase is the key to Windies’ hopes of salvaging an unlikely draw here.

For some reason Babar Azam has been unable to carry his ODI success (1322 runs in 26 ODIs with 5 hundreds, ave: 55.08) into test cricket (436 runs in 9 tests, ave: 27.25), a second successive failure in test series for him! In this series 136 runs at 27.20. Not suggesting he should be dropped. He will definitely improve with time as he has got the right temperament for this format.

Asad Shafiq (67 runs at 13.40) had a really poor series with the bat. Sarfraz (141 runs @ 28.20) and Younis Khan (122 runs @ 20.33. understandable) also struggled.

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

93/6

but that was a bit harsh by the third umpire. There was no conclusive evidence on replay that the ball had hit Dowrich’s bat. The benefit of doubt should have been given to the batsman.

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Technology without Snicko or Hotspot is a joke

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

is the carribean that pathetic that they can’t have hotspot/snicko and all other technology that England, Aus etc can have?
This is 2017 and yet these countries don’t have these tools for the game. Add to that ****ty umpiring decisions and ****ty pitches that can’t hold up for 5 days cricket.

whats with Chase and pak bowlers that can’t get him out, he bats well every innings and goes big. Pak bowling is seriously lacking specially with playing only 4 bowlers

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Tea - Day 5

West Indies require another 158 runs (RRR 4.15) with 4 wickets remaining

Not so a good session for Pakistan…only 2 wickets…hard work ahead for Pakistan… :jhanda:

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

This is the best batting pair WI has got. Pak makes a breakthrough and they hv got a chance. Otherwise these two have the capability of saving WI for another session.

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

3 more to go…keep going…

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Only 30 overs and 3 wickets

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

they need to attack and pressurize the WI batters. Otherwise Chase will draw the match

Misbah why so defensive.

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Chase is the guy…

He is protecting Bishoo anf he need to that for 10-12 overs…and match is saved by WI

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

2 more to go in 20 overs…

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Chase gets a third life - two dropped caught and bowled chances and then caught behind off a no ball - all off Hasan Ali’s bowling. He has batted extremely well under pressure though

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Out

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

the match is now has become a thriller…

1 more wicket to fall in 8.0 overs…

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Gabriel literally had a brainstorm and let his side down. He will rue that wild swing for a while at least; just needed to block the last ball and let Chase safely negotiate the final over

What a tense final day. No one was expecting Windies to drag this into the final over (well almost) after collapsing to 93/6 soon after lunch today. They were also weakened owing to several players being unavailable due to IPL. Nevertheless a valiant fightback by them.

Pak win their first ever test series in the Caribbean

Congratulations and Thank you Misbah and Younis :younis::misbah:

Spare a thought for Chase as well

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Mubarakaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnn… Pakistan won the series :jhanda:

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Victory & History! :jhanda:

Re: West Indies v Pakistan, 3rd Test

Who is your man of the series? (Remember it does not have to be from the winning team)

Chase 403 runs @ 100.75 with 2 hundreds and 2 fifties OR

Yasir Shah 25 wickets @ 21.96

I would give it to Chase because this has not been an easy series for batsmen from both sides. However feel that Yasir will get the award.
