Hazrat Bilal (ra) was black too. He got the honour of saying the azaan. Our Prophet (pbuh) even heard his footsteps in heaven before he died, I think at least. I can't remember if it's correct.
Anyway, who are we to judge other races when Islam tells us to respect each other. In Islam there are supposed to be no differences between nationalities/races.
But to be honest, I don't know how I would react if it would be one of my children marrying a black person. I do prefer someone from our own race, which is natural I suppose, people usually prefer people of their own races. It doesn't necesarily mean you discriminate. I think I would make an effort to accept it, given that that black person would be a decent muslim character.
Now that we are on this subject anyway, aren't most black people nowadays followers of the Nation of Islam, you know, that American black group that followed that old guy claiming to be a prophet too!
