Hmmm
Yeah I always have this stupid temptation to test the keen edge of all newly aquired blades with my thumb… It’s perfectly okay to do so against most broadswords and blades of European design and most thrusting weapons.
However against the majority of oriental blades and as my left and right thumb will show I almost always end up drawing blood…
Warning to all you swordsmen and women yes even a cheap Hanwei blade comes sharp out of the box!

Well yeah fencing is a loose european term, but I guess it can be used to describe the myriad styles used by various ethnicities…
Popular culture will have you believe that for example the Japanese katana is the best sword for whatever reason, A gothic knights sword is straight and heavy, a middle eastern sword is always curved… Most of that is purely popular culture though.
To truly grasp a long sword you feel that your holding something more than a killing implement. In bygone days a good sword was very expensive, you could forge a dozen spears, many many arrows and knives for the material and skill that was used in making a sword. Swords were not just the best weapon for over a millenia they were symbolic of the top fighters. Only the richest or the best fighter could attain a good sword.
But yeah these days fencing is very good sport and aside to that you will be in luck when there is a zombie invasion

I drink water after i've had something really cold (ice cream) or really hot (tea). I like to think it makes my mouth's temperature normal. :-D
I eat roti with rice ( assuming that rice is salan )
I cant put ear phones in my ears. They irritate me to the max.
