May be not weird but strange tradition followed in Sindh. A party took their unmarried daughters to the aggrieved party for getting forgiveness of any offense done to that party. In ancient times, people used to forgive murders as females (even from the family of enemy) were considered most respectable. In Sindhi, they still say 'niyaniyoo satta Quran aahin' meaning the respect ladies like the have respect for Quran.

Its not common now and never heard of this in my whole life except in some PTV dramas. In order to save transfer of wealth, feudals got their daughters and sisters married with Quran and that lady couldn’t get married to a human

Swayam-var. Swayam= self and var=groom, which means the right to choose ones own groom.

In ancient India it was common to held ceremonies like Sauyamar and contest for winning a lady. I think Rama also had to go through such contest for Sita. Famous Draupadi incident from Mahabharat also followed by one of such contests.
Since these swayamvars were in the Kshatriya or warrior communities - valour, pride, and strength was of utmost importance than just simple physical appearance.

What I have hear and seen is Whenever people want to get their murders or any other heinous crimes forgiven, they take Quran Pak with them in order to get their plea heard and make others believe them....This usually happens a lot in villages and all.

Marrying the Quran and all is only been heard and seen in stories and ptv dramas…I don’t think that it really happens in real life. I think that maybe some people prefer marrying their kids within their own family and if the girls don’t find anyone within their own family they are left unmarried so people have just giving it this image and its made to think that girls are married to the Quran. At least this is what I think happens.
