Weekly Islamic School

Re: Weekly Islamic School

One thing I can’t stand is when parents complain that urdu isn’t taught…when they very well know that not everyone is Pakistani. The reason they come to Sunday school is to learn about Islam, not Pakistani culture and its history/roots :smack:

Our school is also from 10-1 and all of the kids have to read zhur namaz and parents are encouraged to come inside and read namaz with them. Of course you will have those who don’t come inside and it scares me to death to see small kids running to their parents cars who are eager, dodging cars meanwhile, now we have someone to watch traffic and ensure the kids are safe… Quran class is one of the three periods and is taught either by the imam/his wife/or sometimes his children…since they are all hafiz I guess… it works out…whenever we need to solve a conflict of some sort with the students, the principal is called…and she’s one tough lady, half of the staff is scared of her so students tend to behave when they are given the principal threat

Yeah this urdu thing came up in our school as well..but now that we have a good mix of all nationalities, the parents don't bring it up anymore :D
