i;m not sure it;s only 150-200 guest wedding. i am paying for chivari chairs but i just said i need a stage done with flowers to mtch my dress (in season) and centerpeices and the aisle of course... im cofused why it has to be so much

well its kind of hard to tell from that... do you have pictures you showed them to demonstrate what kind of stage you want? what centerpieces and aisle decor are you thinking of? can we see those?

and more importantly, did you ask them what they're charging you for? how much for flowers, how much for labour, how much for each centerpiece, how much for other supplies?

and chiavari's are about $4 per chair, aren't they? thats what we got quoted. thats around $600-$800 right there for 200 guests for chairs. so even if they charge another $2000 for the decor, thats about $2800 plus taxes, etc. so lets be generous and say $3000-$3500 max.

why they're charging you an additional $3000 on top of that is a mystery... but it really depends on what you want.

I know that the knott's berry farm hotel, Radisson it used to be called has a really good deal if you go early. It caters only shahnawaz restaurant food but they give a good price. I have family friends who have really good ties with the hotel and lots of people i know people have personally gotten married in the courtyard and had the reception in the ballroom upstairs and some people just rented the ballroom for wedding or walima. i believe you can get it at 15-20 bucks a person. Also for a mehndi cerritos community center is great but you have to go in advance because it gets booked. It should cost about 400-500 bucks to rent a hall maybe even less, i can't remember. There is also a florist named mandira who is very professional and very popular, she is kinda expensive but will give you lots of time and tips. Three of my family members have been married in cali and they all have had her as their florist. If you look early enough you can get a good rate but if you wait too long you will have to pay the price =) i want to see what you looks like, i am curious =) hehe!

thanks gucci :)! do you think you can find out exact prices of knotts ballroom and what is included from your fam and friends (decorations, linens, service, glass and china ware, etc)?? do you know how much shahnawaz charges for their food? can you get me the contact info of the mehndi and flower person (..and if you have any pics that would be awesome!) do you know of any other mehndi places or wedding places closer to the 818 area code? thanks soooo very much! :) :)

i know! i got vetoed cos they'd sink into the lawn too, but i had talked the hubs into paying the extra! oh well. it still looked lovely :)
