Wedding Photographers

Indeed, this is why I am terrified of Pakistani photographers (fair enough they arent all the same) but still...

I have seen people photo shopped into Cathedrals and the like, very strange indeed.

Anyway, I think doing the photo shoot back home will be the best option, I think even doing it in pakistan is impossible, the wedding halls are all concrete Jungles, to go to a decent location during the day will probbably be against cultural norms and it's of course not possible in the evening.

As a photographer working in Pakistan, i would like to tell you that you haven't searched hard enough. I really dont think one should compare photography done here and abroad. The challenges here are different. Most of the weddings happen in the evening here so you can never get the lighting conditions that you do in most weddings abroad. Secondly, a decent photographer over there would cost you around 5-6000 dollars which is a price not many can pay over here. Some can but not many would. The top ones do weddings for 20-30000 dollars. They have more so they get better equipment which makes a huge difference.

That being said, whenever im covering an event, i always have an assistant photographer with me who covers the formals so that i can move around and capture the expressions of the more important people without the tension of missing out on any formals.

Not all photographers over here have photoshopped backgrounds. Better studios are using natural backdrops and doing stuff around the couple's houses as well. I wish we had day weddings ... There would be soo much more we would be able to do but unfortunately our culture is such that we dont.

As far as having two photographers are concerned, i think if you are a good photographer, you will be able to manage to get the shots. There will always be other people, other photographers that one has to manage but good photographers know what they have to do and make their way somehow and get good shots.

Wish you all the best to get someone you like. I would like to see the photographers work that you want to bring over from wherever you are. Always up for browsing through good quality work :)

Re: Wedding Photographers

^he didnt just mean photoshopped backgrounds, but also brides who are way too touched up digitally.

Another challenge is the horrible makeup that a lot of Pakistani brides get, I saw a Munna Mushtaq bride with SABS makeup....no level of high-end photography or gorgeous backdrop could have saved how bad it looked.

I've said it once, but Hadi Habib is the way to go, he is absolutely the best photographer in Karachi. I like KBridals event photography a lot, especially since they capture the expressions of other guests, but with the portraits, everyone has the same old backdrop and your portraits look the same as everyone elses. Hadi shoots at your house, so your portraits won't look the same and he doesnt use props to 'force' a particular reaction out of the couple. I was scared about photography in Pakistan either, but with him, I had no reason to be. My pictures turned out beautifully, I'd recommend him to anyone getting married there.

Re: Wedding Photographers

Fasaadi : You right about the backdrops getting monotonous. I think that is a challenge that i have been facing where a lot of portraits are looking the same. Atleast it has the same feel. Its about the target market that we cater to and most of the people who come to us, request the backdrops that we have that they want a particular shot. Soon enough we would be starting on location photography as well..but the real challenge in that not everyone has elaborate houses where you can take the portraits you want. I love Hadi Habibs work as well. :)

We do keep on adding new stuff all the time but because our sets are pretty elaborate, the feel is going to be the same.

Dear you need to hire only 1 photographer, but they will manage accordingly that how many guys the require to cover the event.
