Wedding outfit from Summer

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer

i like the color combo.

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer

Yea maybe she did…or maybe she just wanted a change from the other day…but IMO, brides look better (more complete) with an updo, that way the dupatta stays on good too…her dupatta was pinned somewhere in the back of her head anyway, not on top…it was definately different…i just think the bride shud stand out from the other guests…the outfit is very nice, but it’s something most ppl i know wud wear TO a wedding, not ON OUR own wedding…i hate having my hair up too, i wear it down mostly…so for me, it makes it more special and unique to have it up on my wedding…i think she had her hair down bcos her dupatta wasn’t all the way up…bcos mostly u need to have a good updo to hold up a heavy dupatta…but in the end, yes it’s ur wedding and u shud wear wot u prefer…she looked really, really pretty…just too plain, in my eyes

Glad u all r liking it…i’ll try posting some more wedding outfits when i have time

Oh and i was thinking…this one wudn’t be bad for an engagement outfit though.

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer

How about a half updo and the rest down.. u knw wht i mean, like a jura in the back and the rest of the hair down and curled.. that way u get the updo but u get the hair down and framing ur face :clown: I can c it from both sides, a bride should look like a bride and stand out from the guests. However at the same time she shud be comfortable with herself and look like herself, not like some cookie cutter bride.. thats one thing that ive seen is really lacking in pak culture: creativity and individuality, everyone wants to look like this or that, they want to emulate everything rather than create their own style.. srry i went off on a tangent there, but maybe she preferred to keep it simple looking n didnt feel comfortable looking like something she SHOULD look like..

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer

sara..on gupshup in pak? u should be out shoppign and giving us fashion tips!!
i sometimes like when dulhans have half their hair up in an updo, and the other bottom part of their hair they have on one side in curls....really pretty....

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer

I say whatever makes her happy.

At my 2nd Walima...6 m after the shadi. My MIL made a jamawar langha with oh shoot i'm blanking on the word...the silk tie dye top with sindhi gotta and kaam on it..IT looked SO good and different...and especially nice b/c it wasn't the heavy work and kaam of the shadi langha but still dressy.. I did have an updo with my dubutta on my head.

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer

MFS, im goin broke :frowning: Well what fashion tips can i give.. uhmm well the stuff they sell at pace is pretty worth the price :stuck_out_tongue: 650 for a not too heavy but not too simple suit is not bad, esp considering kapra wud be 3,400, embroidery/kaam another coupla hundred and a hundred or so for gettin it sewn from a darzi.. saves u the hassle..

Ive acutally noticed a lot of the ready made outfits r made of menswear kapra but cut in a feminine shape with embroidery and nottoo heavy beading on the collar n sometimes salwar… i luv some of these outfits, but my fatass cant fit into anything nice :bummer:

gee what else.. cant think of anything!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer

Yea, half updo sounds nice too. I think if u want to look like the tradional “cookie cutter” bride as u said, or something more modern it’s really up to u and ur family.

Btw, wot’s in for Dulhas’ rite now in Lahore? Still traditional colours or have the trends changed for them also?

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer

Looking thru bridal magazines ive bought here, i saw a lot of traditional colored (except for a bright bridal red from HSY :khikhi: ) sherwanis, but they had a lotta beadwork on em, not something ive seen before..

In real life, the majority of the weddings ive been (within family) the guy wears a regular tux/suit, no sherwani.sawlar kameez kurta etc.. (hell for his nikkah my bro wore cargo shorts and flipflops while bhabhi was wearing fancy salwar kameez and loadsa jewelry :stuck_out_tongue: ) So i wud say its the same stuff i guess.. guys fashions dont really change :p..

N btw, i dont think theres anything wrong with going traditional and “cookie cutter” but it should suit you, your personality n features, rather than trying ot follow rules like “dulhan shud be whiter, eye makeup heavier etc”..

Re: Wedding outfit from Summer
