Wedding costs in Toronto

Re: Wedding costs in Toronto

^ 150 is a pretty good number - you're soooo lucky!!!
Just based on preliminary guesswork, we're at about 200 --> this is NOT including my parents friends or the grooms side guests. SUCKS.

I kind of want to do a combined shadi & valima bcuz it saves costs and I can have an amazing ONE day... but I want to have 2 distinct looks aswell... cant have it alll I guessssssssss :P

Re: Wedding costs in Toronto

I like the idea of doing the mehndi in a condo hall - I've seen some very nice ones and my guests will only be 60 or 70. But there is the problem of dinner. Where would you feed them in a condo hall? Would people have to eat standing up? I wouldn't want that! If you put tables for dinner that might get expensive (for all the rebtals - cutlery, tables, chairs, table cloths etc), plus that would take up lots of space. Anyone been a mehndi at a condo hall and if so how were things set up?

Re: Wedding costs in Toronto

^ Ive been to a few - I think most condo halls come with tables and cutlery or atleast tables. Below are a few different types Ive seen:

1) Condo Hall comes with tables, chairs, cutlery (not serving trays ... just knives, forks, serving spoons, etc)
2) Condo Hall comes with table and chairs only (ive seen people use either cutlery from their home or paper forks/spoons)
3) Condo Hall only with chairs - people usually just sit down and eat. Ive seen both where people sit on the floor and eat (they had put cloth on the floor, and people just sat around) and Ive seen people just sit on chairs

Some halls even have dish washers & stuff :)

Re: Wedding costs in Toronto

most of the newer condol halls are really nice and come with a fully equipped kitchen. we've had lots of parties in my parent's condo hall before they sold it this summer, including my brother's mayyoun. there should be seating already there- sofas, armchairs, etc. and most of them have room for tables too. don't worry about that portion- most people in such a small space will prefer to mingle anyway and will sit down where they can, when they can. its a great way of saving costs and having a lovely event for a smaller crowd.
