Re: Wedding cakes
While some brides agonize over getting their wedding dress juuuuust the right size and shape, other brides are busy trying to get their wedding cake to match their measurements.
Chidi Ogbuta of Allen, Texas commissioned two people – each from different cities – to create a life-size cake replica of herself. The six-tiered cake, made of butterscotch, took five weeks to make and one week to consume. The body, head and arms were crafted from polymer clay (clayke?). This was probably for the best, since most people have a difficult time biting a chocolate bunny’s ear off at Easter, much less gnawing at a bride’s face.
The groom, whose name is Innocent (seriously), “gave his consent without reservations”, according to the bride.
Re: Wedding cakes
I have a question. Majority of these cakes do not look edible, especially the ones with bling and fake flowers on them. Some of them look like plastic. Is the bling edible? I'm sure the fake flowers are removed prior to cutting the cake and serving the guests. I'm just really confused.
Re: Wedding cakes
^these are edible. the smooth covering is just fondant, which is like an edible play dough like thing. and yes, the flowers real or fake are removed prior to serving the cake to guests. the venue will usually do that before they slice and plate the cake for the guests.
Re: Wedding cakes
What about the bling? I have seen moti and other decor.... are those usually edible?
