Really sorry for the late reply to this thread, but I guess all the right questions have been asked.
I guess appraising heirloom pieces can be difficult, unless you know how to authenticate and evaluate the craftsmanship. Sometimes prices can come across pretty random, with the seller placing their own inflated price on the piece. However the work on this piece just made me smile when I first saw it...I've not seen such exquisite kaam like this, apart from some old samples I saw framed and hanging in Bunto Kazmi's studio a couple of years ago. It seems like a piece worth investing in.
