I don’t think I’ve seen any Pakistani brides wearing a sari. However, I know in Bangladesh…Sari is the “normal” bridal outfit (for Muslims and Hindus). You’ll see plenty of Bangali brides wearing saris in the link below. Looking at the pictures, it looks like the “bridal saris” there come with a matching dupatta for the head.

I’m part Bengali and I see a lot of them nowadays wear lenghas instead, esp here in the UK and esp when they haven’t grown up wearing it v.often and might just find it too much hassle or feel uncomfortable draping or walking around in it (course the custom back there is for them to just sit on the stage and not mingle anyway).. Personally I love the look of sarees in general but I find a lot of wedding sarees too ‘fussy’ and on top of that a lot of the brides who wear them add too much jewellery..
