My brother was in Pakistan army.........I can ask him...........I forgot what he was..................He joined after becoming doctor.

You have to be brilliant in order to pass their exams.

You don't have to be brilliant to make it to the army. Actually if your IQ is above a certain level they will reject you. The tests including the ISB are very simple.
The highest selection criteria is of Air force , followed by Pak Navy and Pak Army comes in bottom of the list. The Questions and IQ test they take is of the following pattern:

  1. Which one is heavier 1 kilo Gold or 1 kilo cotton?

now is that a tough one ? Lolz

No but If you change the question to:

Which is heavier 1 oz of Gold or 1 oz of Cotton?

Then it becomes a Question on the Air Force Test!

Plus Never goto a doctor who is from AMC ( Army Medical Core)...Even though as service men we were entitled to have all treatment free from CMH (military Hospitals) but I always went to private ones.

AMC docs are the least in merit and are mostly relatives of army officers like ( SON of a colonel or daughter of a Major who couldn't otherwise had made it to a School of Medicine)
Imagine yaar the lowest in merit who couldnt get admissions in private medical colleges and govt colleges join AMC ( Army medical core).
One time I got injured during a military exercise had 11 stiches on my forehead and this Colonel of Army medical core..came to inspect my sticthes..gave a green signal to his assistant to take my sooches off....and guess what my wound was not heal..they opened my wound and blood started to flow.....Colonel saab then realized that it was too immature to take my stitches off....they Guy didnt even say sorry....caz he was senior to me.....
lots of other stories where people even died caz of wrong diagnosis of these AMC Doctors.
I have lots of bitter memories ....one time this low esteem Officer was in the Officer's Bus and we were travelling to GHQ ......Another junior army officer was on the road standing beside his kid...so that he can aboard his kid to school. So the poor fellow didnt see the Senior officer in the bus....and forgot to salute.....
Be reminded that all this happend on road side....guess know what the senior officer did?
He told the bus driver to stop the bus...he walked to the junior officer standing with his kid and shouted " DAMN it...Panchod..Didn't you see me? why didnt you salute me?"
Lots of other stuff...one time i was in the balcony and i saw this :

A toddler from servant quarters was playing in the Garage of the Colonel saab. Every army officer has servants and the toddler was kid of his servants. The kid was crawling and Colonel saab was reversing his car...he didnt see back while reversing and was about to run him over......luckily the kid's parent shouted at the right time...and the car stopped. COlonel saab got off from his car....and shouted the hell out of the poor servants..all sort of bull **** uttered out of his mouth and he even slapped the toddler.
Even in the mosques they address each other with " SIR SIR SIR SIR SIR "

I am very happy that i am no longer part of it and I feel a free man . My younger brother who is in PAF is also considering to resign and move to Canada now.

Respected Bitter-Reality

By the way I am from 9th MBBS Course of the one and only Army Medical College, Rawalpindi and my father was a Bank Officer and not from Army. It is true that in the initial two or three batches, the merit was not very high. But when I joined back in 1985, a total of 110 Medical Cadets were selected out of more than 9 thousand applicants all over the Pakistan. Out of them only about 350 cleared the written test and then finally only 110 were selected. My class fellows included the students who had topped various borads. To tell you the approximate figures, 3 out of 5 toppers of Lahore Board, 2 out of 5 toppers of Gujranwala Board, topper of Faisalabad Board, 6 out of 10 toppers of Rawalpindi Board, top position holder in 'A' Levels etc etc.

I do admit that a few officers in Pak Army do not pay that much respect to Army Doctors because, they usually do not get many SIQs. The doctors who are a bit lax in giving SIQs are usually more popular. But by and large, all the different corps of Pakistan Army do have a mutual respect for each other.

Moreover, the Entry test for Army Medical College is going to be held in a couple of days and imagine the merit? ONLY THOSE WITH 75% MARKS CAN APPLY. By the way I had many friends from Signals during my postings in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Kashmir, Hyderabad, Bannu, Lahore etc etc. Have you ever served in any of these cantonments? Please do let me know.

its good that bitter left the army as i guess his intellectualness is not needed there. making few examples of individuals acting bad doesnt make whole army bad.

Respected Sir, You guessed them right. SIQs is the abbreviation of "Sick In Quarter" and generally means Bed Rest/ Excuse Duty/ or Medical Leave etc which normally is not more than 3 days in one go.

joining Pakistan Army

hi

can any one tell which month 122 long course will start. is it Oct or Nov 08, 121 started in June 08 (I think).

joinpakarmy.gov.pk, says one will start in May and other in Nov.

can some one also tell me if BTEC National IT diploma is the right qualification to apply for Pakistan army. here in UK it is equivalent to 3 A-levels and it is easy to apply for UNI or got to Higher education.

i think you must check ISPR or Pakistan Embassy in London(Military attache)webcite and get updates there, yes A levels are more than the FA?FSc for you to be eligible. tell me are you ready to take the raggra,cold water dips, sexually intimate bul****ting from CSMs and BSMs. Go ahead spunky and prove your mettle, Allah HAfez!
