bradri is wide term... they don;t marry in lineage (gotra)....

They do marry within caste, but not in same lineage, for instance, I am of Gandhar gotra, so all jatts and Jats having same gotra are my brothers and sister :)
so jatt might be thinking hundreds time before dialing an unknown number for this gotra issue
No surname gives away the lineage, a Siddhu and Sandhu are of two different lineage, problem is in brahmins as surname defines religious qualification or place of birth, not gotra :)

Its origin is of Brahmins, All brahmins across India, claim decendent of certain maharishi, Like my hubby is Vashistha (considered to be most accomplished brahmin) and my saas is Kashyap (Kashmir is named after him).
entire social setup of India has some relation with Hinduism, in turn, with Brahmanism :)

No he wasn’t, Buddha was King of Shakya dynasty and he was of Kshatriya lineage.
